The angle is a little off this year, but you get the picture. Here’s the original Washington Post story about the fire.

Left: Taken the morning of the Eastern Market fire on April 30, 2007. Center: Taken in the evening on April 15, 2008. Right: Evening on April 18, 2009. (Here’s last year’s version with just the two on the left.)

Here’s my full set from the day of the fire and a few updates over the years.

If you don’t know already, article marketing is one of the most established and easiest ways to bring traffic to your websites. Article marketing works with a large number of Internet marketers in a wide variety of niches. Google also loves articles and scans them for keywords for search engine optimization. Many beginners to Internet marketing or multilevel marketing never attempt to start writing articles as they tend to think that it takes a lot of time for that it’s harder than it really is. All you really need is a good topic to write about, and a little bit of time and effort to be successful.

What you should first do if you’re new to article marketing is start by writing an article. It sounds simple but don’t let yourself procrastinate. Try to write an article that is at least 500 words. Also make sure that the article is in line with your business. Don’t go talking about cupcakes if you’re trying to sell weight loss shakes!

If you’ve tried and tried to write an article and you just don’t seem to be able to do it, you could always hire someone to write an article for you. There are many sites online that you can pay around five dollars to get an article written for you. Make sure that this article is informative and shows that you’re an expert in your niche. This article shouldn’t sound like a sales pitch either.

The majority of the top article directories have what’s called a resource box. This is simply an area where an author input information about themselves and a link to their blog or other website that they would like to promote. It’s extremely important that you fill this resource box in with the website that you’re trying to promote as this is the reason you’re developing articles in the first place. The best information to fill in the resource box would be the website you want to promote, a link to subscribe to a newsletter that you post, and an e-mail address to contact the article submitter.

Once the article is written and proofread, you should try to distribute your article to as many article directories as possible. There are many different types of software available to do this. One of the programs is called article marketing robot which allows you to submit to thousands of articles with the click of a button. This program isn’t free but will pay dividends if you use it properly.

I would also do a Google search for the top 10 article directories and make sure not to do any automatic submissions with them. You want to do manual article submissions with the bigger article directories. Keep the automation to lower end sites.

If you had article marketing as part of your overall strategy, you will see your overall traffic on your website increase substantially. Just make sure that you’re submitting quality content or your articles might work against you.

So stop reading this article and get to work!
