CAN CAVS AND LAKER FANS BOTH AGREE TO THIS STATMENT?

Who’s better kobe or lebron? Read details for your answer V.v

Problem is: Neither is better than the other. Both are the best at there positions. The most over hyped debate in sports continues without any point. It’s like chewing the same tobacco over and over and just letting the juices drown you.

The most important thing to realize amid this media-driven LeBron vs. Kobe frenzy is that there is no way to compare them to begin with—two different positions, two different teams, two different systems. One’s a SF, the other a SG; one’s in the East, the other the West; one’s in the ball-through-me system and the other the triangle. Stats and rings—both favorite arguments from the opposing camps—are useless in the comparisons because of age, athleticism, and system differences. Kobe is plus- seven in terms of age, cannot run the triangle by himself, and is almost 32 with over 1,000 games on his legs. On the other hand, LeBron is relatively young and without question plays better team ball consistently, so consider it a real possibility that LeBron notches up to four championships (or more) in the next seven or eight years.

If you were to actually watch videos of each of their respective games and compare them to each other, you should notice that Kobe plays, naturally enough, more like a shooting guard by shooting perimeter jump shots, while LeBron plays, naturally enough, more like a forward by taking it to the rim. There is nothing wrong with either, but of course LeBron tends to get a lot of flak for taking it to the basket so much (because that doesn’t require “skill,” but doesn’t posterizing Dwight Howard make you somewhat skillful?), and getting so many superstar calls, as does Kobe. No question about that.

But what irks me is the nonstop drivel that comes out of fans of the respective camps, as if there were a “rivalry.”

Are you kidding me?

The Cavaliers and Lakers have no history against each other in the playoffs whatsoever, and LeBron has never played Kobe more than the league- mandated two times per year in meaningless regular season games that are solely for milking some much-wanted publicity, hype, and ratings. This pseudo-rivalry and the people involved in it are simply pawns for the NBA’s viral marketing scheme. Comparing two players at different stages of their career in different systems at different positions before their respective careers are even over is ridiculous. The debate ought to stop from now on until BOTH are out of the game.

i agree, but i think they should spice it up, and have a rivalry between them. You know??
That would be so much entertaining just like back in the old days. Thats what the NBA is missing a good Rivalry.

I agree. Why can’t people just appreciate a player instead of talkin smack about him?

Well, this isn’t really a question & I’m neither a Cavs or Lakers fan but you are right. I’m fed up past the limit with these “Who’s better, Kobe or Lebron?” questions nearly every day as well although I’m sure some people ask only because they know people are tired of it.
On the other hand since they ARE the 2 best players in the NBA comparions are and since they DO play on probably the 2 best teams comparisons are inevitable but there won’t be a TRUE rivalry until they meet in the finals.

I agree and I don’t agree it can go both ways because Lebron has accomplished some things that Kobe didn’t and never will (youngest records). Kobe has accomplished alot more then Lebron James but it’s nothing Lebron can not accomplishish in a couple of years. Kobe has been in the league alot longer and of course he’s going to have more awards then Lebron. I’m not saying Lebron is better and I’m not saying Kobe is better. We are just going to have to wait a couple of years and see how it plays out. Thanks for the question

i agree and disagree i agree with everything you said except i think kobe is better only because of killer instinct something lebron has yet to develop but he is still young and it could take some time to develop. but everything else i agree with.

Well Said I tried to say this statement a while ago and i think you and me are both right but we all know career wise- Kobe has had a better career but thats only because LBJ’s is just starting.

LeBron is more explosive and more loved by the fans for that “cuddly” persona he has developed.
Kobe is an introvert there’s nothing cuddly about him.
I believe i can safely say There are numerous records Lebron cannot break set by Kobe.
Kobe will end up with more points and more TITLES.
IDK what Lebron will do yet will he be amazing for 10 more years? 5? 3?
Nobody knows, Kobe is better overall. He can DO it all.
Lebron is a more unstoppable force but can’t catch fire like Kobe. Of course i am a little biased but you see my point? I can’t wait to see how these two market phenoms end up…

you are right. it is very difficult to compare.
but this is just what people do. its our nature. part of our learning process, and all of our competitive nature. if there is no first there is no race.
i do get tired of the debate at times, but am also intrigued by the different viewpoints (when valid). unfortunately it will never end because everyone weighs intangibles and differences (like teams and positions) differently. therefore opinion becomes the quick sand we build our arguments on.
either way, i’d just say dont take it to seriously and always take a break from kobe and lebron. i dont get tired of it much because im often talking about the many other players in the league (or even another sport).
anyways, good question and you are definitely right about what you said on all of that.

EVERYTHING U SAID IS RIGHT. THEY ARE BOTH DIFFERENT PEOPLE ON DIFFERENT TEAMS.
