  • Is Twitter is a credible and accurate news source?

Why is it when I watch any cable news channel for 20 minutes (or less) I will hear them quote something that they heard on twitter at least 3 times? Why do the cable news channels (and local news channels) quote twitter as if it is a credible news source?! They all do it, CNN, FOX, CNBC talk shows everyone. Are they too lazy to do real reporting and just rely on some unknown person with a twitter account? Do the owner's of twitter pay these news channels to use the word 'twitter' every 20 ...

Hi guys I have adopted the Million Dollar Homepage model to use for social media, micro-advertising - http://www.becomethebrand.com So what I mean is that if you twitter or flickr, you can get very cheap advertising on a virtual billboard. The question is how do I get people to visit my site (especially as the first 100 visitors get free advertising)? Should I start a blog, buy google ads, comment on high-volume blogs, use squidoo, get a facebook page, try and get someone to write an articl...

I have no idea where to start as far as that goes. I have a small product and know how to market. Now, say for instance, I started a company called organixbeauty and I sold organic make up that I make home-made. Let's pretend I want to protect that name and reserve it all over the web. So I do what I can...I sign up on myspace, twitter, youtube...make the email accounts, etc. But how do I protect that and keep others from copying/stealing/or using my formulas/ingredients? I'm just a nursing s...
  • How come pop culture is more important then politics?

I am tired of the news reporting of Obama having a BBQ on the white house lawn, finding a dog for his kids, even Obama is reported for calling Kanye West's behavior a jackass. (Which is funny since MTV's target market isn't any where near Obama's age plus he is running the country watching the MTV awards at night?) What does any of this has to do with us in a political sense. I want to know Obama's policy's not his personal status. He should just have a twitter so the news can shut it and repor...
  • Do you think JNTO’s goal of 10 million inbound tourists to Japan by 2010 will be achieved?
    by Hello Mails
    Posted March 2nd, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Just wondering what everyone thinks of JNTO's goal of getting 10 million tourists to Japan by 2010, and then on to 20 million in 2020. Do you think that, looking at current numbers and trends, it is achieveable, or even conceivable? Reasons for: - The tourism board has set up a Facebook and Twitter account to reach and attract people - 2010 has been announced as a 'Visit Japan' year - A new 'Visit Japan 2010' website has been launched - Increased tourism budgets - Lond...

Im 20, and the past year have been really doing a lot of research, and been studying the market, to know more about stocks, different types of investments etc. for my future. I always thought that you couldn't buy stock in privately held companies??? I thought it was just publicly traded companies? I came across this article on yahoo finance and it was talking about how to buy stock in facebook, twitter etc before they become publicly traded. I'm pretty confused, if someone could explain this to...
