Email Signature Banner – Microsoft Outlook 2000

Sending emails is not only a useful way to keep in touch with friends and family, but it is also a powerful marketing tool for network and internet marketers; particularly when used in conjunction with an autoresponder, and nowadays there are some very clever picture signature banners that, when clicked, send the recipient directly to your affiliate or marketing account. For those of you who use Microsoft Outlook 2000 as your email account handler instead of Outlook Express, and want to add a signature banner, here are a few tips.

First of all, you need to find the HTML code for your banner.  This will usually be provided for you by your affiliate program or network marketing business.  Highlight this code, click with your right mouse key and tap ‘copy’. It is important to highlight the whole of the text as it will usually carry your affiliate code.
Next, press the ‘start’ button on your desktop and find ‘notebook’ (it may be in ‘all programs’, ‘accessories’). On a blank  ’untitled’ notebook page, place your mouse into the blank space, right click and press ‘paste’ – now press File, Save As, and call your file something like testsignature.HTML (the .HTML is very important), and remember where you have saved it (for the purposes of this test, I recommend that you save it on your desktop so that it is easy to see).
From your desktop, open the new ‘testsignature’ file (by double clicking). This will open up the banner in your Explorer browser. You will see the picture banner displayed, with the address in the URL browser box.
Position your mouse in the URL browser box (http:// etc), to highlight the address in blue. Press Ctrl-A, then Ctrl-C (hold down the Ctrl key then tap A, release then same again and tap C)
Now open your Microsoft Outlook and Click Tools
Click Options
Click Mail Format
From the drop down box, select ’send in message format’ HTML
Click Signature Picker
Click New
Enter a name for your signature (we’re calling it ‘testsignature’ but you choose a more appropriate name)
Click the radial button for ‘use this file as template’
Position your cursor in the box (left click in the box) Press Ctrl-V
Click Next
You should now see your banner in the screen. If it is ok, Click ‘Finish’
Click OK
Check that the name (testsignature) appears in the signature box. If so, Click Apply
Click OK
Open your Outlook email and click ‘new’ to start a new message. Your signature should appear on the message.

You should now have a clickable picture link on your outgoing emails that will help drive traffic to your affiliate or opportunity website.
