Simeon Monument, Market Square, Reading, c. 1900

Just rediscovered this image in a box so have moved it, and the associated identifying comments, over from my old image galleries (see link below) to Flickr. But I’ve also removed it from its mount to reveal the full image, and rephotographed it.
I’m uploading it to coincide with the HistoryPin / Reading Museum ‘Pinning Reading’s History‘ exhibition and drop-in sessions.
More about the location and monument:

Almost all modern marketing techniques involve using the internet in some way, shape or form, and one method that is becoming increasingly popular is internet article marketing. There are those that would argue that this method of marketing is dead, but when done properly, it can produce a steady flow of traffic to your website on an ongoing, consistent basis. Those who don’t believe in the power of internet article marketing are most likely making some very basic mistakes that are seriously hindering their marketing attempts.
The most common mistake that marketers make is in using articles that have been copied over and over. There are thousands of articles which can be used for free, but if everyone just used the same pieces on a regular basis, then how is your website supposed to stand out from the rest? Not only that, Google goes out of their way to banish sites that use copied content, going so far as to place them at the bottom of search lists. What they do love though is original content, and even if you have taken a single article and re-written it 100 different times, it will still appear as original, and thus will boost your site up the rankings.
You may not be the greatest writer in the world, but you don’t have to be anymore. There are a whole slew of writers out there that will gladly write you original, engaging content that the search engines will gobble up. The proper use of grammar and SEO techniques is a major plus, and it will go a long way towards making your website stand out in a positive manner. If you do decide to go this route, be sure to check that the articles you paid for are original and will pass copyscape, because failure to do so will result in those articles being seen as copies by the search engines.
So now that you understand that article marketing is still very much alive and well, it would also be good to know of some different article marketing strategies that you can employ to get the ball rolling. The easiest method is direct article marketing, which involves writing articles that have your website link included within the piece; this is almost exactly like a sales pitch, and is the last thing a potential customer will see before deciding to buy, so it had better be a convincing piece of writing, or you risk losing the sale. The downside of this method is that most article directories, which you will want to use, do not allow direct links like this.
Another option is article marketing for traffic, which is similar to what we just spoke about, but instead the link will send folks to a landing page like a Squidoo lens or something similar. These are allowed in article directories, as are articles that contain backlinks, which have become very popular on sites like Build My Rank and Linkvana. These are basically short little themed articles that have a piece of clickable text (usually a keyword) that send the reader to your site. This is a great method that allows for easy to write articles that are interesting and to the point. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, and there are many more article marketing strategies that can help boost your ranking when properly employed.
