Very honestly, I do not care what everyone on the wagon wants to say, MAC is completely OVERHYPED! There are too many brands out there that are equal or better in this way or that. Start out drugstore, I think it’s ridiculous to pay dept. store. These days drugstores have the mineral kind, which is best for all skins. I am happy never buying over $10 for a lipstick.

Personally, i dont like MAC as it is expensive. The make up is okay, some girls swear by it and others cant justify spending that amount of money in makeup which costs the manufacturers next to nothing to create. The girls that work at MAC are all very cake face and when i asked them to match a foundation to my skin they dont apply enough. i honestly couldn’t see the difference between the non make up side and the MAC side of my face. I dont really see whats so special about it really. Its just another make up brand charging too much for their products.
It’s a personal opinion and depends a lot on what you need from your make up products.

yeah Mac is good but its a bit overrated, Clinique is verrry good too, as well as Stila and Hard Candy and Tarte and Nars, etc. Sephora makeup

Its very overhyped and people use it because everyone says its amazing and its a very popular brand and “trusted”. But theres better brands out there..and its expensive and the one MAC foundation breaks alot of people out.

more or less. It has a good reputation and they have good stuff, you can’t deny it.
It’s a very “go to” makeup brand.
And there’s never going to be a “best” makeup brand. There’ll always be something wrong with it for different people, whether it breaks out their skin or if their eyeshadows are chalky, their lipglosses too sticky.
And I think most of the people on youtube are freelance makeup artists/MAC artists so they would use a majority on their clients. If they’re not, maybe they like collecting it, but might not pick up a shadow until a year after they opened it.

There isn’t really a best. Isn’t just that MAC is really good so it tends to be very expensive. Most people are going to Sephora or drugstore products now because MAC is getting crazy.

I was a MAC wearer for the longest time, I always had a problem with it. I have oily skin. and MAC is not good for girls with oily skin. I know they have primers for Oily skin but to be honest, whenever I wore it my make up would look flawless for the first 4 hours then it would break. It would always have me breakout then I tried SmashBox. and I find that to be WAY better than MAC.
MAC has great pigments with their eyeshadows, blushes and lipsticks. I give them that but their makeup does work well with everyones skin. NARS eyeshadow pigments are amazing, and Makeup Forever. has really amazing pigments.
MAC is most commonly used with many different Makeup artists. To me it may grew the hype of MAC but doesn’t mean its the Best. To me I think the Best is what works well with your skin.
You can achieve MAC look with a good primer, look up girls who use NYX and other less expensive brands of makeup on you tube
I find these to be the best (for ME and for oily skin girls)
Smashbox Primer, foundation, and Powder,
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer
Maybeline- Stiletto Mascara, and Eyeshadows
NYC- Brow filler.

no MAC is not the best brand of makeup out there, but it is considered up on the list. The reason why people talk about MAC is that it is fairly cheap for a high-end brand. For example, their lipglasses are $14 compared to YSL’s lipglosses which are a whopping $30. In my opinion, MAC is great for their eyeshadows and blushes (esp. mineralized skinfinishes since they’re so unique), but some of their stuff is easily dupe-able by drugstore stuff.
I like MAC stuff, but I only buy things that are unique to them and can’t be found anywhere else. As for my other makeup, I really like drugstore brands like Revlon and Physician’s Formula.

MAC is the best that’s why its famous and its worth it just last week i went to buy MAC cosmetics worth 900 USD and all i can say is its longlasting and made me more pretty and flawless.i love MAC!
