A Niche is a specialized market containing a group of people who share a common interest or quality.
When we refer to Niche in internet marketing, we are talking about the area of business people enter into. You need to find a niche before starting online. Many aspiring marketers get stuck on this point. There are a few simple principles when brainstorming to bear in mind.
Your Niche Should:
Not be too big as it will be hard to target
Not too small as you will not have enough targeted traffic
Be competitive but within reason
Consider the profibility although this may not be your ultimate deciding factor
Is there potential for backend products?
Do you have an interest in your choice of niche?
Do not get put off by the above. When you are starting out it is not necessary to adhere 100% to the above.
A lot of potential marketers spend too much time looking for new and untapped niches.
There are many niches that may interest you and I want to give you a few ideas to get you started. These are three evergreen niches that are universally popular and have thousands of people searching for information and products in this area. These are markets and within them are niches to choose from:
1) Market: Health
Niche: Diet, supplements, healthy eating, weight loss, hair loss, quit smoking, skin care, vegetarian cooking, gaining weight
2) Market: Wealth
Niche: Internet marketing, debt relief, work from home, online trading, credit cards, e-bay
3) Market: Lifestyle:
Niche: Mind, body and spirit, computer games, dating, personal development, online study courses, DIY, how to sell your home, the web
The above are only a few examples.
You may off course have a specific interest such as fishing, camping, dog training, online games etc all of which are popular topics.
You can also do online searches to see what people are searching for. This can be very beneficial. If you go to google adwords keywords search, or any of the other keyword search sites, you can very quickly establish which products and services are being searched for. This will give you an idea of how popular the line is that you are interested in following.
