He scheduled me for a time and then included this in the email…
All images we create together will not be sold or given ownership to any other parties and will only be used in my creative portfolio and other personal marketing materials. For your participation I will give you a copy of all the best images we produce together in addition to 10 fully touched up images that I personally choose for my portfolio. I will not be able to shoot you without me copying your driver’s license or Passport and have you sign a model agreement.
Is the above typical (to have to copy your driver’s license) or is it totally a scam?

Copy of the license sounds legit, but your passport sounds like he is a little on the stalker side.

WRONG ON THE COPY OF YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS A FREAKING SCAM. NO photographer I know has ever asked me for my drivers license to copy even for model agreements. If it’s free then why do they need your entire personal ID information????? You never just show up on a photographer’s door step without investigating their history. Like what is their business’s name?? Check out their business. If they do not have any business name or any way to check up on it, forget this crazy man. Do they have any references like a website etc??? Again no photographer has EVER SAID TO ME I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SHOOT YOU WITH OUT A COPY OF YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE. COMMON SENSE HERE GIRLY! Do you want identity theft??????? If you do then that’s fine to get this so called photographer shoot that is free. I have had shoots I went to that I did not have to pay for, they paid me, but absolutely never asked me for my personal information such as that or social security number. You never give that stuff to people like that unless it’s an employer or DMV. He sounds like an identity thief. The only thing I was asked for me to bring someone with me to the shoot as it’s a standard security procedure real photographers do.
Sorry I know I sound repetitive, but just trying to protect you from that. I have been through so many scams with modeling.I learned the hard way. Yet, I finally found some legit modeling photographers that have been successful. Email me if you want help to get you where you want to be safely and successfully.
You need to report him on craigs list for this type of advertisements. Even craigslist has a warning message that to be careful of ads as they can be false.
