Question by Katie: someone sent me an email from my personal e-mail and sent it to everyone on my contact list how do i stop this?
i have two email accounts one for personal the other for business. today i recieved an e-mail from my personal account but i never sent it. it was sent to everyone on my contact list. how do stop who ever hacked my account?

I have no idea, but it happened to my account and my father’s account, too. I changed my password, but other than that I don’t know what else you can do.

I suggest you check to make sure you don’t have a trojan active on your computer. One thing they typically do is grab your e-mail addresses and start sending e-mails.

I always wonder what’s going on when not just your contacts get a email but so do you from yourself. You can scan your computer and check your out going emails to see if they where sent from your account. If your computer comes up clean like I think it will, I don’t think your the one with the problem. I think one of your contacts has been infected, it’s spoofing your email address. The reason for this is it does not what to tell where it’s really coming from. It’s hiding it’s self that way. Does not make much sense to infect a computer and then let the user know it by sending email to the infected computer. So after you check out clean you might want to let your contacts know that one of them is infected.
