After all da dumb press from journalists who were either stupid (Zune doesnt play ipod music!!!) or mad (I had to buy my own Zune – not get a freebie!) it seems the public is taking to the Zune in pretty good numbers. Latest sales-data shows the Zune in 2nd place with 9 percent of the U.S. market, measured by unit sales, and 13 percent of the dollar volume for the week ended Nov. 18. Not such a shabby start all things considered. We’re pretty sure Microsoft will be offering firmware upgrades thoughout the life of Zune, so expect Podcast support in the new year, although we’re pretty certain that won’t include iTunes support!
Heres some crazy crap from reviews!!
They Say: Doesnt Play iPod songs.
Zune Groove Says: PS3 doesnt play Xbox 360 games. Here’s a Fix: Copy iPod AAC files to CD – then burn to Zune
They Say: Doesn’t play Podcasts
Zune Groove Says: Yes it does, idiot. Save the podcast to your PC and locate with Zune software
They Say: Crashes My PC when installing
Zune Groove Says: Installed fine on my machine. iTunes has crashed many a PC
They Say: WiFi DRM is Terrible
Zune Groove Says: Do you really think it’d be ok to allow Zuners to send their entire (30 gig) collection over to countless other people?
They Say: Amazon sales are terrible – iPod is killing Zune
Zune Groove Says: Whoever said this was an iPod killer? Patience my young music lover!
They Say: Doesn’t do email! (the girl on Good Morning America)
Zune Groove Says: Neither does your 8-track you silly, no-clue-whatsoever girl.
Zune has taken 30% of the 30gb market and 30gb zune is all they have out! They are expecting a 60gb and 80gb this holiday season and alsso the zune nano!
Think about what happens when the nano, 60gb and 80gb comes out! Apple iPod is DEAD!!

I love the Zune too. I think it’s great. I have a black one. I know that many iPod users can’t possibly think that there’s a better MP3 player out, and it’s so sad. My iPod broke, and I decided to try the Zune. It was kind of hard at first, but in the end, it was great. I like how it has more things included than the iPod. I even made a list of the stuff that I liked about the Zune more than the iPod:
1.bigger screen
2.scratch-resistant, durable
3.feels nice in the palm of your hand, really
4.has a nice UI design (way better than ipod)
5.has wi-fi feature so you can send songs & pics to other Zunes
6.has built-in FM tuner
7.you can change the background picture for the whole menu system
8.Zune software has a subscription feature so you can download a lot for 1 flat price
9.can integrate with the Xbox 360
10.you can view videos and some pics in landscape mode (on it’s side) so you just turn it on it’s left side (makes it great for watching videos)
11.you can get 14 day free-trial for Zune Marketplace
12.has the newest and latest technology
Of course it’s not perfect. Hopefully the mega firmware updates with new features will come soon.
About the WiFi thing: They could have made it better. It’s not the fact that there’s a DRM thing, and it only works 3 x 3, but that’s all the WiFi does. Couldn’t they take some time and make it so that you could wirelessly sync your Zune, or buy music from the device? It’s just that the WiFi is kind of boring. Plus there aren’t many Zune users to use the current WiFi with. Hopefully they can make the WiFi better with a firmware update.
